Christmas month officially started! How about decorating your home with this cute Christmas peppermint candy? This peppermint candy goes well with the Christmas candy cane. It is an excellent decoration for the season and a perfect gift for your kids. This is very easy to make and can be a perfect last-minute gift.

1 skein each Catania yarn (#106 white, #115 red, #412 green)
3.0 mm (US C/2) crochet hook
Fairfield Poly-Fil Premium Fiber Fill
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
sc inc = single crochet increase
Instructions:
The yarn I was using is size 2 Catania yarn. You can use any size 2 yarn to achieve the same result. When making the peppermint candy, I alternate between red/green and white yarn.
Front piece:
White yarn:
Round 0: start with 8 sc in magic circle (8 sts)
Round 1: ( sc inc ) * 8 (16 sts)
Alternate between white and colored yarn (we are using red as the alternate color in this instruction, you can use whichever color you want):
Round 2: sc (white), sc inc (first red, then white), sc (red), sc inc (first white, then red), sc (white), sc inc (first red, then white), sc (red), sc inc (first white, then red), sc (white), sc inc (first red, then white), sc (red), sc inc (first white, then red), sc (white), sc inc (first red, then white), sc (red), sc inc (first white, then red) (24 sts)
Side:
Round 3: 24 sc alternate between white and red. Working in the front loop only (24 sts)
Round 4: 24 sc alternate between white and red. Working in both loops (24 sts)
Back piece (same as the front piece):
White yarn:
Round 0: start with 8 sc in magic circle (8 sts)
Round 1: ( sc inc ) * 8 (16 sts)
