Christmas month officially started! How about decorating your home with this cute Christmas candy cane? It is an excellent decoration for the season and a perfect gift for your kids. This is very easy to make and can be a perfect last-minute gift.

1 skein each Catania yarn (#106 white, #115 red, #412 green)
3.0 mm (US C/2) crochet hook
Fairfield Poly-Fil Premium Fiber Fill
Fabri-tac fabric glue or glue gun
polka dots ribbon
flatback pearl button
Aluminum Wire
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Abbreviations:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
Instructions:
The yarn I was using is size 2 catania yarn. You can use any size 2 yarn to achieve the same result. When making the candy cane, I alternate between red/green and white yarn. When the candy cane reach the desired length, put in the aluminum wire and poly-fil stuffing. Sew close the bottom and bend the candy cane into the shape you want. Finally, tie the ribbon on the candy cane and glue the flatback pearl button on the ribbon (optional).
White yarn:
Round 0: start with 8 sc in magic circle (8 sts)
Round 1: 8 sc on the outer loop only (8 sts)
Round 2-3: 8 sc (8 sts)
Red yarn:
Round 4-6: 8 sc (8 sts)
White yarn:
Round 7-9: 8 sc (8 sts)
Red yarn:
Round 10-12: 8 sc (8 sts)
White yarn:
Round 13-15: 8 sc (8 sts)
Put aluminum wire and fiber-fill stuffing inside. Sew close the bottom.
Decorate the ribbon and glue the pearl button (optional).
Christmas candy cane is finished, enjoy!
