dc = double crochet
dc inc = double crochet increase
bpsc = back post single crochet
sts = stitches
Instructions:
When making the base of the basket, I kept increasing each round using double crochet stitch. When the base reached the desired size, I added a round of back post single crochet to give the basket a nice edge. I continued to crochet the side using single crochet with natural-colored yarn to achieve the look I want.
Upon completion, this basket will hold its shape but very flexible. If you prefer a sturdier basket, use fabric stiffener or other products to stiffen the basket. You can also make the basket tighter by using a smaller crochet hook.
